Alexander Lintl

Art Historian / Artist in Vienna
About Alexander

Alexander was born and raised in Vienna into an architectural family (his father designed the famous Blue Danube Tower.) He grew up with famous Austrian architects Hans Hollein, whom he also studied under at University, Wilhelm Holzbauer, and Gustav Peichl, both of whom remained his close friends throughout their lifetimes.

Following in creative footsteps, Alexander received his Master's degree from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, and became an expert on history and art. As an artist himself, he has worked as a stage and costume designer, designing opera and theater productions all over Europe and Asia. With his roots in the theater, he is a great storyteller. He has also worked as an Arts and Design Professor at the New Design University.

Alexander is an official Austria Guide and his enthusiasm for art, history, and culture have led him to travel and study in various countries over four continents. Often guiding Jewish guests from around the world, Alexander feels honored to be a long-time specialized guide for Jewish Vienna History tours. His expertise extends to historical Vienna, art nouveau, music, Sigmund Freud, and to museums like the Schönbrunn, Hofburg and Belvedere palace. Alexander also enjoys sharing stories of Vienna's famous cakes and desserts, and the cafés, restaurants, art, and music that give Vienna its charm.
