James King is a painter, sculptor and printmaker who has been living in France since graduating from the University of Oxford in 1987. In 2011, after twenty-five years in Paris, he moved with his French wife and three young children to the Vexin region, west of the capital, not far from the village of Giverny, where he frequently leads walks through the house and gardens of the impressionist painter Claude Monet.
James also leads tours of the Louvre and Orsay museums, where he enjoys sharing with adults and children alike his intimate experience of painting and sculpture. He has been an esteemed Context expert since 2013.
James was terrific and knowledgeable. A patient teacher that answered all our questions. A pleasure!
James was awesome! He was so knowledgeable about the museum itself, but more importantly his knowledge of art made the the tour that much better. Being a lifelong artist himself, he provided so much insight into how the art was created, it made the whole experience very rewarding. I have actually already already recommended James to a friend that mentioned they might be going to Paris and I would definitely do the same for anyone I know that is planning a trip to Paris.
Wonderful and thank you for tailoring our tour to our daughter!
