Maja is an art historian, curator, and visual artist based in Amsterdam. She holds a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and Conservation and Restoration, a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts and a PhD in Art History. Her experience spans higher education, teaching, research, and curatorial practice, where she has worked on projects and exhibitions that bring art to life for diverse audiences. This year, she is part of the team organizing Grafiek25, the National Triennial of Graphic Art.
As an artist, Maja has exhibited her paintings and prints internationally, earning recognition for her creative work.
Her passion lies in exploring the creative process, art techniques, and materials, with a keen interest in uncovering how specific artworks were made.
Maja has a deep fascination with the Dutch Golden Age, a period that shaped Amsterdam’s identity and artistic legacy.
With her multidisciplinary knowledge, she offers a unique perspective on Dutch history and the artistic heritage of the Netherlands.
