Mike Armitage

Local Guide in London
About Mike

Mike Armitage has been one of the foremost guides in London for over ten years. Born and raised in London, Mike has lived in Windsor for many years. He spent much of his working life as a customs officer at Heathrow Airport and then moved to central London to work for the British Government, prior to training as a guide. Mike is qualified to guide all the major sites in London and delights in showing visitors the hidden corners and fascinating details of this historic and modern city.
He is particularly interested in the history of the First and Second World Wars and enjoys taking visitors to the Churchill War Rooms or the Imperial War Museum, as well as pointing out the still visible traces these conflicts have left in London. As a Windsor resident, Mike’s expertise in guiding Windsor Castle, the late Queen’s favourite home, is second to none.
Mike has a passion for wildlife, and when not showing clients around London and Windsor, he enjoys walking along the Thames and around Windsor Great Park. Mike also enjoys visiting the battlefields of France and Belgium, watching black and white movies, and researching his family tree. He tries to remain cheerful despite following the mixed fortunes of Fulham Football Club.

Feedback for Mike

Very informative

Crystal and Lane had a wonderful time with Mike. He was very helpful in making sure we were informed about where and what time to meet. Also, he was given a tip at the conclusion of the tour. We would highly recommend him again.

We had a wonderful experience with Mike! We learned so much about all of the things we saw, and we got to see a lot by virtue of it being a private tour. He was a pleasure to spend the day with, and gracefully handled some special requests that came up during our tour.
