Tour Description
The moment has arrived. Your long-awaited trip to Paris — perhaps your first time abroad as a family. A visit to the Louvre, widely regarded as the world’s most important museum, is an essential Paris experience, and your children are finally at an age where they can appreciate it.

Our kid-friendly experts are passionate about nurturing a love for art. During this immersive 2.5-hour tour of the collection’s highlights, intended for kids and their grown-up companions, you will not only see art, but learn to “read” it, sharpening observational skills and sparking creative thinking along the way.

You’ll connect the past with the present, for instance through the curious 18th-century statue of Apollo and Python. Wait a minute — could this god actually be taking a selfie?! Or are we merely viewing the past through the lens of today?

By the end, you will have conquered the Louvre's most famous treasures together and created lasting memories and a love for art that goes beyond the Louvre walls.

Choose this tour if...

  • You want your family to share a fun experience you can all enjoy and reference after you return home.

A memory your family will come back to time and again.

"Sandra was remarkably personable, especially with our seven year old. Improvising for a fun visit and constantly at eye level, Sandra was engaging with humor and intellect; she would be a world class teacher. Today at breakfast we heard an amazing minute-by-minute recount of the [time] spent together. Our little one knew what she had seen, its importance and a good bit of historical context. Most of all, she was beaming about her new friend and the fun they had together."

Created for children, enjoyed by all.

“The whole family loved our tour with Laurent. We were a group of three generations, and he was so engaged with everyone. He made such a daunting and huge Louvre a place where we learned so much and enjoyed our time. Highly recommend this tour!”

Marianne H.

Transform even the most doubtful skeptic into an art enthusiast.

“Absolutely fantastic. My kids hated every museum but loved the Louvre and it was 100% due to Lindsey! Great focus/education on interesting things to look for in the art and the history and meaning behind the artworks.”

Forget dusty exhibits and bored faces. This tour brings art and history to life, flexibly adapting to your children’s interests. Your expert will weave tales of the Louvre, helping you imagine life inside when it was a mighty fortress or royal residence. Indeed, you’ll begin the tour well beneath the current structure, your young explorers examining remnants of the original medieval castle and its moat.

You might then unravel ancient Egyptian mysteries, going face-to-face with sphinx statues and deciphering secrets hidden in hieroglyph-covered walls. You’ll stand alongside the majestic Winged Victory of Samothrace, striking a similar pose, and investigate the beauty of Venus de Milo. Why doesn’t she have arms? And what’s behind the Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile?

Perhaps you’ll duck away from the crowds into a forgotten room to spend quiet time observing and uncovering the stories of the art within.

And you? You're not just a spectator – you're part of the adventure. Witness the wonder in your children’s eyes as they uncover hidden details. Inquire along with their endless questions (you'll surely have some of your own, too). And learn alongside them in this engaging journey.

Resources
  • Pre-Visit Preparation:
    • Introduce your child to some of the artworks they will see. Picture books and online resources about art can be helpful. The Louvre's official website provides materials here for families.
    • Explain what behavior is expected in a museum—speaking quietly, not touching the art, and walking instead of running.
  • If you are looking to learn more about Paris prior to a visit, check out our online lectures and audio guides here

  • There are multiple entrances to the Louvre, but the most accessible entrance is through the Pyramid and the Carrousel du Louvre, which both have elevators.
  • Wheelchair rental is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. You can ask for one at the information desk located under the Pyramid.
  • Most restrooms in the Louvre are equipped for wheelchair access.
  • Some areas of the Louvre, especially in the older sections, may have limitations due to architectural constraints. It is best to check with the museum's accessibility guide or contact them directly for detailed information on these areas.
